About this place
An inviting aroma greets each freshly fried batch as it leaves the kitchen, followed by a satisfying crunch at first bite. Tucked along a Kinshicho side street, Kan Chicken is built around Korean fried chicken that balances a crisp exterior with tender, juicy meat. Diners can choose from a range of flavour profiles, spanning classic sweet-and-spicy yangnyeom and aromatic soy sauce (ganjang) to boneless chicken crowned with melted cheese. Both bone-in and boneless cuts can be ordered by the half or whole bird, while half-and-half combinations let guests sample multiple varieties, such as original fried, soy, and fiery chili.
Despite its poultry-centric name, the kitchen also prepares an extensive selection of noodle dishes and Korean homestyle favourites. The seafood jjambbong stands out with its chewy, medium-thick noodles and generous helpings of baby octopus, submerged in a deeply savoury, seafood-infused broth. The menu also offers sharing plates such as bossam, featuring succulent boiled pork served alongside radish kimchi and crisp wrap greens, as well as thick vegetable jeon pancakes that highlight the texture of potato under a layer of melted cheese.
Inside, a handful of tables make up a compact, casual dining room. Even as takeout and delivery orders come and go, the room keeps a steady, comfortable pace. Operating continuously from lunch through evening, it suits a quick midday noodle dish or set meal just as easily as an evening unwinding over freshly fried chicken with cold beer, soju, or makgeolli.
